Why Wriddhiman Saha is so angry?

Wriddhiman Saha
Wriddhiman Saha Another Unlucky cricketer

How do you define Wriddhiman Saha? The most trusted man behind the wicket for the last couple of years? The best wicket-keeper after MS Dhoni? The unsung hero of Indian cricket? Or the man without controversy? But Wriddhiman Saha is going through lots of controversies.

Wriddhiman Saha asked the reporter of the national channel has already asked, should we talk about cricket first or about tweets? The reporter answered, ‘Avi jo chal raha hai.’ That means the Twitter story. He was sitting with a black light mask. Now, Wriddhiman Saha is going through the trending list on Twitter for the last few days.

The Interview of Wriddhiman Saha

But there is no spark of excitement in his eyes. As soon as you write #Wriddhimansaha, 300-400 posts are being made daily with this hashtag. Are you reading those Tweets regularly? Are you Tweet yourself? What is your plan for IPL? When will you name the threatened journalist? Why did you say Sourav’s tweet in front of everyone? Widdhiman Saha – Answers to many such questions.

Q: What can be said in combination with the mood: “Saha ko gusa kiu ata hai?”

Wriddhiman Saha: I heard the name of some such movie. Why are you involved with me? Look, you know me – I do not care. What I have done, I have thought about that.

Q: So are you saying that you Tweeted the What’s app chat of that journalist’s threat after a discussion?

Wriddhiman Saha: Absolutely. I did the Tweet after discussions with my wife, parents, coaches, a few close ones, and with my digital team.

Q: Do you consider this a threat?

Wriddhiman Saha: What did you read? I will talk to 10-11 journalists, that is my choice. I don’t talk to anyone about any interest. I don’t even think about who is big and who is small (as a journalist). So after receiving this message, I thought – in the future such courage that no one else can show, something needs to be done. Something that I have heard before. No one said that and did not disclose the matter. I did it for the cricketers.

Q: But the whole country wants to know – who is this journalist? Did the board ask you?

Widdhiman Saha: Everyone wants to know the name. I got a call from the board and also received the Email. I also spoke with the BCCI and sent a reply to the Email. But still, I did not say the name yet. I will not say the mane for now.

Q: Why! If you do not disclose, how will other cricketers be aware?

Wriddhiman Saha: I do not want to play with anyone’s bread and butter and do not want to in the future. If that journalist has any regrets, he should get a chance for that. If not – I don’t know what will happen next. For the time being, I am not saying the name to anyone.

Q: So you replied to the board’s Email and tweeted three more, do one / two / three?

Wriddhiman Saha: Do you remember when I did the next Emails (smile under the mask). I do not do anything without informing the board. So it seems that I have written those three with the reply to the Email of the board.

Q: Well, coach Rahul Dravid himself called Wriddhiman and said, “Hey, it feels bad to say ‘you’ – we have to make someone else for the future.” So you can think of ‘something else. The selectors in the Sri Lanka series may not consider your name. What was the hint? The retirement?

Wriddhiman Saha: (laughs) That’s what I thought later. Rahul Bhai called me straight away into the room and said the lines. But I was surprised by what I heard. In the last Test I played – I batted with a shoulder injury and scored 61 runs. I did not play a single match in the South Africa series. What do you have seen on me to exclude? Wanted to know, is it fitness, form, or age? None of this – I did not get the answer.

I got the call from the chairman of the selection committee Chetan Sharma. He talks like Rahul Bhai. Asked him, why do not consider me again! I can’t accept this answer. Excluding after the performance and fitness! I was even more surprised when a senior board official told a news agency before the team selection what the Sri Lankan series team would be like. Who will be left out? How come these come out earlier! Look, I have come to play the game because I love cricket. The day I do not feel like I will not play anymore, I don’t have to tell anyone – I would not hold anyone’s place.

Q: Is it arrogance or sadness?

Wriddhiman Saha: Nothing. I said what do I feel.

Q: You said the name of the national selector Chetan Sharma! And also what did he say on the phone – you said that too!

Wriddhiman Saha: I did not say anything to anyone. I never say anything to anyone. That is not my nature. I had told whatever question was asked.

Q: Board President Sourav Ganguly’s SMS? You say that too.

Wriddhiman Saha: If anyone had heard the question asked by the journalist, it might not have been asked. ‘Dadi’ is an icon of Indian cricket. If he sends an SMS to motivate, that is like saying.

Q: But Sourav’s elder brother Snehashis Gangopadhyay, the secretary of CAB, has criticized you. He said that it was not right to information about the personal SMS sent by Sourav.

Wriddhiman Saha: What he is saying is his business, not mine. A journalist asked me the question, was answered to that only.

Q: The CAB secretary has said that the organization will not fight against the BCCI over your omission.

Wriddhiman Saha: I did not tell anyone to say anything. I came from that Siliguri to Kolkata with the confidence of my ability and hard work. Then I played for the country for 12 years. I did not ask anyone to say anything on my behalf. I am not going to tell anybody about this. It is not my nature.

Q: Speaking of Siliguri, it seems that a person close to you and Sourav also, the former mayor of Siliguri, has written a letter to the board president – to reconsider his decision to exclude you. Do you know what?

Wriddhiman Saha: Ashok uncle is always getting in touch over the phone. He said this to me. But I did not tell anyone to do anything.

Q: The top official of CAB said that you can play for Bengal whenever you want.

Wriddhiman Saha: Actually, I did not know that the rumours would come true through the words or propaganda of Rahul Bhai that I will not consider for in the two Tests of the Sri Lanka series. I am leading a life of bio bubble.
A few months back, my wife was infected with dengue. It takes time to recover from this disease. We have two children. The boy is barely a few years old. It is difficult for her to handle the two alone. So, I decided to spend some time with the family.

I will not play Ranji for Bengal this year – I told that to the President. I called the chairman of the selection committee. One more thing, as long as it feels good to play, I can give the best – will play. Be it a club match, a Bengali match, or an IPL. And playing for the national team is a great honour.

Q: Even though the duration of playing cricket for the national team is 10-11 years, you have only been able to play cricket for 3-4 years. The way the present coach toled you today for other players, no one has said for you. Does not it feel rude?

Wriddhiman Saha: No, does not matter. Because, out of 1.4 billion people, only 16 players get the chance to represent the nation. I am among the 16, it is enough for me. It feels great to be in the first XI. But being on the team is also equally proud to me.

And what you say, that’s right. I did not get a chance to play more matches. When Mahi Bhai was there, he was also the captain and wicket-keeper. He was very good in both roles. So I was on standby. When Mahi Bhai took retirement from the Test match, I became regular in the test team. I had always tried to give the best I got when I got the opportunity to play.

Q: Is not the injury is your twin brother?

Wriddhiman Saha: Injury is a part of any game. It is hard to avoid. I could not either. The last time the operation took place, it took a long time to return to the field. By then, the Panth has come.

Q: Then if you go to the cancellation book Because Panth come! And you have to give various suggestions to him in the practice session! That is what the then coach Ravi Shastri said. Really?

Wriddhiman Saha: That is normal. Sridhar was our fielding coach for a long time. He said, so I would give some advice to Panth to deal with some keeping problems. At first, Panth could not handle them. Now, he is doing it.

Q: What is this! You dug your own grave in the professional world!

Widdhiman: The team is going to play for the country. If someone gets the opportunity to play, and if he needs any support we have to give. I do not like ego. The Bengal also has many who call me. I always try to tell you the way to handle it.

Q: Have you started any mental or special preparation for IPL?

Wriddhiman Saha: No. I have come to this camp, and I am chatting with you. I am spending time with my family.

Q: So you are eager to prove once again in the IPl session?

Wriddhiman Saha: Riddhi: Oh no no… I’m talking to you about all this right now. Once I enter the Gujarat camp for the IPL, I will remember nothing but cricket. I think of nothing but cricket. I will only think of nothing but the victory of that team.

Q: No one is talking about the issue of Wriddhiman Saha’s exclusion from Team India. Everybody is talking about the Journalist issue. You could easily Tweet the chat later!

Wriddhiman Saha: As I said before, I love playing the game. Have you ever seen that I am talking about someone? I am on the Indian Team, I accepted it. The blow comes to him, who can manage them and comes back to fight again. So I like it. For that reason, I wanted to warn everyone by tweeting without thinking about myself. I did not call a press conference.

Q: So what next?

Wriddhiman Saha: For now, family and IPL. And also to help Bengal cricket in every possible way.
