On India’s all-time list of international cricket run scorers, Rohit Sharma has climbed to fifth place. He surpassed Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The ex-Indian captain was in fifth place. But the present captain overtook Dhoni with 80 runs in the first innings of the second Test against West Indies.

Rohit Sharma is known for his good form. The Indian captain has scored a century in the first Test. He had also the opportunity to score a century in the second Test as well. The way he was batting suggested that he was expecting a century at that time. However, Rohit could not achieve it.

He misjudged a ball from Jomel Warrican and got bowled. Then he was batting on 80 runs. Despite that, Rohit Sharma has a personal record as India’s captain in international cricket. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been surpassed in terms of runs scored in international cricket by the present India captain. Dhoni has scored a total of 17,092 runs across all formats (Tests, ODIs, and T20Is) for India.

Sachin played 664 International matches for India and scored 34,357 runs across the format. Virat Kohli is in the second position for India. He scored till now a total of 25,461 runs across the format. Rahul Dravid occupies the third spot with 24,208 runs. Sourav Ganguly follows at number four with 18,575 runs in international cricket.

Rohit Sharma reached the number five position on India’s all-time run-scorers list. He overtook Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sharma has done this in far fewer matches than Dhoni, who played 535 international matches for India and scored 17,092 runs. But Dhoni also played a few matches for the Asia XI. As a result, his total international run tally is 17,266. The present Indian captain has played 443 matches for India so far, including the second Test against West Indies.

The ball went over the mid-wicket boundary. He looked confident. After the lunch break, Rohit continued batting in the same manner. He showed enough confidence in his abilities. However, he couldn’t read the line of Warrican’s ball on 80 runs. The ball went past his bat and hit the off-stump. The Indian captain was bowled, and he returned to the dressing room.
