However, he may withdraw from the Tests against New Zealand in Kanpur (November 25-29) and Mumbai (December 3-6). There is a possibility that those who will be rested in the T20 series may play in the Test series. India will have to play only three ODIs in the upcoming home season. That too against the West Indies in February. According to sources, the board wants to go with a two-year master plan before the 2023 ODI World Cup. So there is no hurry to announce the new captain of India for ODI right now. The board does not want to share leadership in limited-overs cricket. India will play 16 T20 matches by the end of June next year.
